Super Meat Boy is $3.75 on Steam for today only.
If you don't own that excellent game and you're not buying it for that price, you're frikkin' crazy.

That's what everyone says, but I don't care. I haven't played it, so I don't know for myself, and I see absolutely nothing that makes me want to play it.

Look, just because you're playing as a slab of meat and usually end up falling into saws and turning into a bloody mess at least 10 times before you beat the level doesn't mean anything. It's $3.75, man.

Re: Video Games
Huh.
It's like a better-graphics, worse-gameplay version of 50K Racewalker.
And, if I'm going to buy anything from the Steam sale, it'd probably be Loom. Or the LeChuck's Revenge Special Edition, I never actually did get that. And I HAVE been wondering about that new Wolfenstein game that iD came out with...
NO! NEVER! This is how it always goes: I buy one thing, I buy two things, I buy fifty things until I run out of cash. NO MORE!
I REGRET NOTHING!

Re: Video Games
So, I got the game Ghost Trick: The Phantom Detective in from Gamefly today, and it's amazing.
Basically you're a ghost that has to possess objects and chain together their actions to save peoples' lives and find out who you are and why you were killed. The gameplay is pretty much a more fast-paced point-and-click adventure without inventory. I'd highly recommend it.

Why would you SAVE people's lives? If you killed them, you'd probably be able to solve the puzzles WAAAY faster with two minds (three, four, etc.) working on the case. And they wouldn't have to worry about how they died, since you can just tell them!

For one, no one else can possess objects and such for some strange reason. Plus there's the fact that you need these people alive to help unravel the mystery.Uzi-Bazooka wrote:The Wheelchair wrote:So, I got the game Ghost Trick: The Phantom Detective in from Gamefly today, and it's amazing.

Re: Video Games
So, I beat Ghost Trick.
Ya ever play a game where it seems like just about everything is perfect? The story, the gameplay, the graphics, and even the music? Guess what! That's pretty much how I feel about Ghost Trick.
In fact, the only thing I didn't like was one big plot twist at the end. Not the main plot twist (that was brilliant), but this one was a pretty big one. It was just a little too convoluted and nutso, almost like something straight of out of Sam & Max. It didn't have a big impact on the story though, so I forgive it.
Anyway, in conclusion: PLAY GHOST TRICK.

DON'T READ ANY REVIEWS ABOUT IT. Whenever I feel that way about a game, I end up looking it up online and seeing people discuss all the ways that it's wrong. Then I realize, "Oh, yeah, that sucked, didn't it?" And then it makes everything worse.
But yeah, I've had some games like that. Quite a few, in fact: my video game love is pretty easy to buy, actually.

Re: Video Games
Actually most of the reviews I've read about Ghost Trick have been positive. And the ones that weren't as positive, well... I just disagree with 'em and be on my merry way.
ALSO: On February 17th, Telltale's announcing FIVE new games. That's right, FIVE. I figure at least one of those has to be another SBCG4AP, Puzzle Agent, or Monkey Island game. If not, I'll eat my shoe.

Re: Video Games
Five new games?! Link please?
I would LOVE SBCG4AP: Season Two. That would be awesome on top of awesome. A new Monkey Island would be good too (I'm hoping the next one is called Legends of Monkey Island). I hope there's not another Sam & Max-while I love them, I've had way too much in recent weeks, and could use a break.
But maybe they're expanding into a completely new license. Or maybe they're actually (shudder, shudder) MAKING THEIR OWN GAME WITH THEIR OWN CHARACTERS.
*snigger* *chortle* BWAAAAHAHAHAHAhahAHAHA! Oh, man. That was a good one.
PURELY THEORETICAL IDEAS THAT DOESN'T REALLY MATCH THE REST OF THE POST (NOW PUT IN A SPOILER FOR YOUR CONVENIENCE):

PURELY THEORETICAL IDEAS THAT DOESN'T REALLY MATCH THE REST OF THE POST (NOW PUT IN A SPOILER FOR YOUR CONVENIENCE):
- Spoiler:
- I think that an SBCG4AP: Season Two is entirely possible. First of all, the first season has obviously been getting quite a lot of attention, and is Telltale's second-best-seller (after the Sam & Max franchise.) Also, in honor of Trogday, SBCG4AP came out on Steam under the name "Strong Bad's Cool Game For Attractive People: Season One." Now why would they need to make that distinction unless another season was on the way?
And I haven't even mentioned the fact that this could be another reason for the hiatus. Oh. Now I did.
I mean, when you think about it, these are all the things that might have contributed to the hiatus:
-Baby break (not needing to be a whole year)
-being writers for the short film Monster Safari (that was actually only Matt...and he only did the writing...and he started before the hiatus did.)
-Poker Night at the Inventory (recording lines and helping with tweaking some of the dialog.)
I'm not sure if all of these things were enough for a whole year of three updates and a main page. And isn't it possible that, while TBC were at Telltale, they might have started working on the next season?
Maybe. But probably not. This is mostly wishful thinking on my part.
