Halo sucks. Well okay the first one was a great game, second one was pretty amazing but I got burned off on Halo during it, third one was pretty mediocre, ODST looked just lazy, Reach looks pretty good, but it is just a watered down G-Mod you have to pay 50 bucks for.

Marathon on the other hand was a story driven Mac underdog that garnered a huge familial usenet family over the span of 10 years.

HAVE YOU EVEN SEEN THE GAME??? It'b beautiful, graphics wise, The story... doesn't matter. It goes back to Combat Evolved in a lot of ways, the pistol is the best weapon ever, second only to the Skull, *fast forward through 5 minutes of stark ranting and raving* and that is why there are pumpkins.

The Bungie Guys are still the biggest traitors in the Video Game business ever.

"GUYS WE ARE PREMIER MAC DEVELOPERS, YOU GUYS CAN COUNT ON US TO COUNTER ID, OH EXCEPT NOT ANYMORE WE ARE JOINING MICROSOFT ENJOY YOUR TYPING TUTORS"

Mac gaming never recovered.

I would. I just downloaded it and played it-annoying beyond all belief. The whole screen is shaky, my crosshair moves away from my mouse; the bad guys are pathetic...not even remotely fun. I have purged that mess from my computer, never to take it up again.

Maybe it's just not my kind of game. Here are the things I found annoying with it:
-You can't save except at these certain terminals. It's not like Doom or any other game where you can just save willy-nilly.
-It took me forever to figure out how to even USE the terminals for story or health or whatever.
-The whole interface is shaky, in the literal sense of the word.
-The bad guys are about as difficult as slicing through butter. Hot butter. With a steak knife. In fact, the only time I even get HURT by them is because of shaking or because...
-The crosshair moves away from my mouse. If I shoot, it shoots out the crosshair, not at the place I'm actually pointing.
-The bad guys, in addition to being milquetoast, are few and far between. This game comes across not so much as a first-person shooter as a first-person walk-around-getting-lost-in-the-automap-trying-to-find-the-freaking-terminal-er.
-Next-to-no difficulty. This doesn't just apply to the few wimpy enemies, either. I am never running out of ammo, health, or anything. The only time it's difficult is when I'm wandering around aimlessly or when the FREAKING SCREEN SWITCHES ON ME AND DECIDES THAT, SINCE I POINTED RIGHT, I MUST WANT TO SHOOT LEFT!
So, it might just be my computer, it might just be my personal opinion, but I hated this game. Again, it hath been purged from my computer and I can't think of anything that could get me to play it again, except possibly being threatened with murder as the alternative.

What difficulty were you even on?
Also crosshair problems are penance for using a crosshair
On the never running out of ammo thing, I don't think we are playing the same game.
On not figuring out the terminals... well, wow.
Save terminals were just one of the things that upped the difficulty that you said was non-existent.

Also sounds like you never beat level one which is sort of a problem if you are making honest crit.

So I don't know what game you played or it's just not for you. EVERYONE HAS OPINIONS

(Out of curiosity which game did you download because I'll go ahead and tell you the first one sucked compared to the second.)

How strange. Makes sense though since it was made basically with Mac in mind.

1. I played the first game, Marathon, so I would know the story.
2. I don't know what difficulty level I was on, as the game chose it automatically.
3. I like the difficulty to be in the gameplay, not in the saveplay. I don't count that as difficulty, but as annoying crap.
4. I beat the first three levels and was on my way through the fourth when I decided I had had enough.
5. I think you're right-this game just isn't for me. I mean, I like Doom 3 more than you, and Skulltag, and so on.
6. I REALLY LIKE THE CROSSHAIR. Haven't you been reading my Let's Play? Like, at all?

Oh so you were on Kindergarten then.
That's the default difficulty.

Also: Why do you keep telling me that I didn't like Doom 3? I liked it enough to beat it.

Preferences -> Player. Go up to Major Damage. Believe me, it's harder. Anyway, the shakiness while you're moving is because you probably because you probably have to set to *always run*
I think you were on normal, BTW.

I didn't have it set to Always Run. I very SPECIFICALLY didn't have it on always run. I tried very hard to make ABSOLUTELY SURE that it was not IN ANY WAY on Always Run.
Just thinking about this game again frustrates me. I'm going to go upload a new Doom II thing now.
SO THERE!
