Everyone buy Splinter Cell Conviction! I played the demo, and that looks like the best Arkham Asylum-esque game to ever hit the north shore! There is some cussing and allegedly s**ual themes (But honestly, that could amount to someone making a comment about how hot someone is.).

Re: Video Games
Personally, I think it looks like every other Splinter Cell game. And I never liked Splinter Cell.
Why can't shooter games be more varied. Everything now is either gun metal grey, or dark brown. Where's "Captain Color's Neon Violence Adventure"?
Is it my fault I want to shoot vibrant green aliens with translucent blue lasers on a dark red space ship?
That's why I liked the Midnight Crew Intermission.
EDIT: I SAW WHAT YOU DID THERE.

Re: Video Games
Your name is Captain Arnold J. Color. You've been causing the most eye-blinding, neon violence for thirteen years. You've come to this dreary, red spaceship for two things: A nice, green, translucent drink, and to rain colorful, shiny death onto those miserable, green, vibrant Abraham Lincolnholes rummaging about in there.
And your pretty sure they don't serve green drinks
What do you do?
UZI EDIT: I fixed your swear, Mr. Lincoln!
DISK REBUTTAL/EDIT: Oh sorry, I thought bleeping it was okay. UNLESS THIS WAS A JOKE.

Re: Video Games
I've only played this Splinter Cell and, like, the original, so I'm impressed (I can see!!!). The reason we're not using colorful guns is, well, if you play 5 seconds of the demo, Sam has already shoved some guy's head through a urinal. Does he sound like a bright and colorful guy? MW2 is trying to be realistic and halo is pretty colorful. Honestly, If I went through that warehouse during the day, I never would have made it. Bright and colorful just wouldn't work.Cesar Philbeck wrote:Personally, I think it looks like every other Splinter Cell game. And I never liked Splinter Cell.

Yeah, I'm saying basically that there are far too many "realistic" games around. Also Halo was more lens flare than color. I want a completely unrealistic game where you, say, fly through space on a jetpack, with no helmet even, and shoot reeeeally big lasers at donut shaped bad guys or whatever. Gaming "Realism" isn't even that realistic, but games using it try so hard to emulate realism that they all slur together. Modern Warfare didn't feel any different than Battlefield 2, and both those felt no different than Gears of War or such. Companies are basically feeding us "Captain Bland's Dusty Explosion War Adventure" over and over again.
What I'm saying is why can't games, which are supposed to suspend your disbelief and put you in another world, feel different than life?
Note: this whole argument applies to first person games of course.
Also what happened to first person games that AREN'T shooters? Like Myst? Those seemed to have disappeared. The first person perspective is, in my opinion, the best perspective for video games, but first person games are universally dominated by shooters.
EDIT: Also, Uzi, you are my hero for the rest of the day.

I USED TO LOOK FORWARD TO BETAS. BUT I HAD A BAD EXPERIENCE WITH A BETA. A VERY BAD EXPERIENCE WITH A BETA. AND NOW I CAN'T EVEN PLAY ANY VIDEO GAMES EXCEPT THAT BETA.
ALSO, HALO IS WAY TOO HACKNEYED, BUNGIE NEEDS TO BE MORE CREATIVE FOR ONCE.

Re: Video Games
Eh, just adding features is not creating a new story.
In 1998 Bungie was asked if they were going to do "Marathon 4", to which they replied it would be "beating a dead horse." And this is their Sixth Halo game.

Have you guys heard of the new Telltale Game, Puzzle Agent? I NEED IT. It animated by my favorite webcomic guy, and I personally enjoy puzzle games, and it just seems interesting to me.

Not an Episodic Game +Telltale just equals weird to me. Also, it doesn't sound too interesting. Just...weird. Finally, I have no money due to getting my mom a nice gift for Mother's Day.

You like Graham Annabel's stuff too? Awesome! Yeah, I can't wait for Puzzle Agent. And the 50% off with pre-order thing has me sold. I'll be picking it up with the Sam & Max case file and POSSIBLY Sbemail.exe disk six. Depending on how much moneys I can dig up.Movie magic man wrote:Have you guys heard of the new Telltale Game, Puzzle Agent? I NEED IT.
