I wouldn't say that Tales is any less fun if you haven't played previous Monkey Island games. Tales was pretty much my introduction to the series, and I loved them.

My top five episodes are as follows:
1. The Tomb of Sammun-Mak (Sam & Max Season 3)
2. The Trail and Execution of Guybrush Threepwood (Tales of Monkey Island)
3. Night of the Raving Dead (Sam & Max Season 2)
4. What's New, Beelzebub? (Sam & Max Season 2)
5. Rise of the Pirate God (Tale of Monkey Island)

Sam & Max Season 1 was nothing excellent, but I'd recommend you play it just so you can fully understand Sam & Max Season 2, which is, in my opinion, Telltale at its best. If you don't wanna buy two seasons, I'd recommend Tales of Monkey Island, since it's about the same quality as S&M S2 and you can get into it with very little Monkey Island knowledge.

EDIT: Do NOT get Bright Side of the Moon without the other Season 1 episodes! You simply won't enjoy it as much without playing the rest of the season.

Okay, you can ENJOY ToMI withthout previous Monkey Island experience. But you won't enjoy it AS MUCH.
Also, if you do get Tales of Monkey Island, you HAVE TO HAVE TO HAVE TO start at the beginning, because it's not exactly episodic. It has several episodes, but they're all one whole story, so Episode 4 without the rest would make no sense.
And if you are going to get just one episode of any season, I would recommend Reality 2.0 (since Abe Lincoln Must Die is free.)

This also applies to Sam & Max Season 3. It's all one big story.

Yeah, I'd recommend that or Night of the Raving Dead. Raving Dead has a few more references to previous episodes than Reality 2.0 does, though, so you're probably best with da 2.0.

If you guys thought that Doom II was pretty, take a look at Doom one (technically Ultimate Doom, though only Disk knows or cares about the difference.)

Also, it's more difficult than I expected. At one point, since I was completely out of ammo, I had to go through an ENTIRE LEVEL (E2M2) punching the guys in the gut with my fists.

So I just finished Sam & Max 304: Beyond the Alley of the Dolls..

Holy. Freakin'. Crap.
Telltale has officially topped every other episode they've ever made by a mile. The puzzles, the references, the story...

Every one of you that even remotely likes point-and-click adventure games, buy this season of Sam & Max. Even if you haven't played the other seasons, even if you do it just for this episode, buy it.

Everything I've heard about the PS3 suggests that, as a video game system, it makes a great Blu-Ray player. So probably not.
On the other hand, you're talking to the guy whose video games of the choice come from the late nineties. And who has had only a computer for years. And when I did finally get a video game system, got a Wii. So I won't mind if you take my opinion with a grain or twelve of salt.

Best thing about it: Powerful Forge editer. Which has a third of Gmod's power and customizability.

I'm not springing for it.
